HPP organises third Heart Failure Policy Summit

5 April 2024

On 9 and 11 April 2024, the Heart Failure Policy Network (HFPN), for which HPP acts as secretariat, is hosting the Heart Failure Policy Summit.

The Summit is an international event for policy, academia, patient advocacy and clinical leaders to discuss the latest advances in research and advocacy for heart failure. These conversations will provide a bedrock on which better heart failure policy and care can be built.

The Summit is free to attend and registration is open to anyone with an interest in addressing the challenge of heart failure. The full agenda is available on the HFPN website.

Heart failure places a huge burden on individuals, health systems and wider society, which is too often overlooked by policymakers. But the condition’s prevalence is only going to increase with ageing populations and higher survival rates from other conditions. Urgent and effective political action is needed to ensure that health systems can cope with the increased demand and improve outcomes for people with heart failure.

Attendees at the Summit will hear from speakers from the European Parliament, national ministries of health and leading heart failure organisations on trailblazing initiatives in heart failure advocacy and policy. The Summit will offer inspirational discussion on the goals for heart failure advocates to achieve better care for all.

The HFPN is an independent, multidisciplinary group working to improve the lives of people with heart failure. It is supported by members including healthcare professionals, patient and clinical advocates, and policymakers across Europe.
